Speaking to reporters, he said he was in the midst of collecting information.
Apart from the names of the suspects, he said he was also trying to secure their MyKad and Umno membership numbers.
“Based on the list of suspects brought to court, some of them are Umno youths from the Gombak and Ampang divisions.
‘Based on the information I have now, four or five of them are Umno members,” he said.
On January 8, the Metro Tabernacle Church in Desa Melawati, Kuala Lumpur was attacked with a petrol bomb.
Azmin, who is member of parliament for Gombak, urged Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak to explain immediately why Umno members were involved in the attack.
“From what I see, the trend today is Umno’s survival, which appears possible only through inciting racial issues,” he said after visiting the Taman Datuk Harun Mosque, one of two in Petaling Jaya that were desecrated on Wednesday.
“I hope Umno will stop this because it is dangerous,” he said .
PKR and its coalition partners have condemned all attacks on houses of worship.
“The police must stretch all their resources to ensure public harmony is maintained and not just ensure the safety of Umno and BN leaders,” Azmin said.
