Penang: Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Mansor Othman said Friday Penang Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) regretted the public outburst by Member of Parliment for Bayan Baru Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohd Hashim in accusing Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng to be a dictator.
“We are sad and dismayed that this comment came from Zahrain as it is not the right way to address our leader in the Pakatan Rakyat, more so Lim being a senior leader,” he told reporters after attending the launching of the Penang International Halal Expo and Conference 2010 by Lim at the Penang International Sport Arena here today.
He was responding to Zahrain’s comments published in newspapers today in which he had called the secretary-general of the DAP a “dictator, a chauvinist and communist-minded”.
Mansor added that he would be calling a separate press conference to clarify the sudden outburst by Zahrain.
However, Lim, who also was present at the media conference with Mansor, declined to comment on the matter.
“Since I am the party involved, I will not say anything today and let Mansor do the talking,” he said.
Meanwhile, when contacted, state PAS Youth chief Mohd Yusni Mat Piah deemed the comments by Zahrain to be his own personal views.
“We do not see this as a Pakatan Rakyat problem, as he (Zahrain) was just expressing what he was thinking but the DAP-PKR -PAS coalition is growing stronger, especially in Penang,” he said.
